My Story
I'm particularly drawn to the ever-changing scenery of Langstone Harbour and the Southsea seafront. You'll often find me out with my camera in the early morning hours – just after 5 am – when the light is at its most magical and the world is still waking up. There's something truly special about witnessing those first rays of sunlight illuminate the harbour and the Solent.
My photography focuses on two main areas:
Coastal Landscapes: Portsea Island, while not boasting dramatic cliffs or sandy beaches, offers a unique beauty in its diverse coastal scenery. I'm particularly drawn to the expansive pebble beaches and the captivating shores that stretch along the island's edge. The ever-changing moods of the Solent, the gentle lapping of waves against the pebbles, and the way the light dances on the water's surface – these are the elements that inspire me.
Shipping: Portsmouth has a vibrant maritime scene, and I'm fascinated by all aspects of it. From the historic warships of the Royal Navy to the constant flow of ferries connecting us to the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, France and Spain, there's always something interesting to capture. And it's not just passenger ferries that catch my eye; I'm also drawn to the cargo ships, tankers, and other commercial vessels that contribute to the bustling activity of our ports.
I believe that photography is about more than just capturing a moment in time; it's about telling a story, evoking an emotion, and sharing a unique perspective.
I hope you enjoy exploring my portfolio and discovering the beauty of our coastal world through my lens.
